The Gracey Figures 11/14 and 12/13 prove to be particularly timesaving, since using Figure 12/13 all mesio-distal surfaces in the side tooth area, e.g. in the first quadrant, can be completely treated in vestibular direction in one step without having to change the instrument. It is only with the change to palatinal direction that Figure 11/14 is used. The second quadrant begins of course with Figure 11/14 for mesio-distal in vestibular direction, etc.
