The Reinwald hook is a combination of a solid sickle scaler and a strengthened, straight surgical curette. It can be used in periodontics, and surgery as well as in prosthetics and is also called the "all-round instrument".
The sickle shaped and round working tips make a simple and secure removal of temporary measures and crowns possible. In surgery it is used for the following indications:
- removal of cysts
- elevation of root residues
- circling the resected root stumps in order to remove the cyst completely
- detach periosteum
- removal of contaminants
- smoothing bone edges
- controlling of implant tunnels
- removal of connective tissue and granulated tissue
